Seal Masters respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you fill in a quote form on this website, we collect the name, suburb, phone number and email address you enter, along with anything you tell us about the problem you want looked at.
When you call or email us, we collect the contact details you give us and the details of your enquiry.
When you become a customer, we keep the address of the property we worked on, records of the work carried out, quotes and invoices, and any photographs taken of the job for the purpose of diagnosing the problem, documenting the work and honouring the warranty.
When you use this website, our analytics and advertising tools may collect technical information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, the pages you visit and how you arrived here. This is collected in aggregate and we do not use it to identify you personally.
We do not collect government identifiers, payment card numbers or bank account details through this website.
Why we collect it
We collect this information so we can:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange an inspection;
- prepare and send you a quote;
- carry out the work and issue an invoice;
- honour the warranty on work we have done, which for showers runs for ten years;
- keep records we are required to keep as a business; and
- understand which of our advertisements and pages lead to enquiries, so we can spend our advertising budget sensibly.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not disclose it for anyone else's marketing.
Who we share it with, and where it goes
Form submissions are processed outside Australia. The quote forms on this website are delivered to us by Web3Forms, a service operated from the United States. When you submit a form, the information in it is transmitted to and processed on servers in the United States before it reaches our inbox. By submitting the form, you consent to that disclosure. If you would prefer your details stayed in Australia, please call or email us instead of using the form.
Website analytics and advertising. We use Google Analytics and Google Ads. These services are operated by Google, which stores and processes data in the United States and other countries. You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, and you can control ad personalisation in your Google account settings.
Our email provider. Enquiries reach us by email and are stored in our email account.
Apart from the above, we disclose personal information only where you have asked us to, where we need to in order to do the work (for example, to a strata manager or building manager who has engaged us on your behalf), or where we are required to by law.
Cookies
This website uses cookies for analytics and advertising measurement. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you using this website or submitting an enquiry.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we may need them to follow up, and customer and job records for as long as the warranty runs plus the period required by Australian tax and business record-keeping law. After that we delete or de-identify them.
‹‹ RAY TO CONFIRM ›› — if you would rather state a specific period here (for example “enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted after 24 months”), tell us and we will put the number in.
Photographs
We photograph work sites to diagnose problems, record the condition of the work and support the warranty. We may use photographs of completed work on this website or in advertising. We remove location data from every photograph before publishing it, and we do not publish photographs that identify your property or its address. If you do not want photographs of your job used publicly, tell us and we will not use them.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Email ray@sealmasters.au or call 0424 626 557. We will respond within a reasonable period. There is no charge for making a request.
You can also ask us to delete your information. We will do so unless we are required to keep it — for example, records relating to work still under warranty, or records we must retain by law.
Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first at ray@sealmasters.au and we will try to sort it out.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
